well aren't you mr pleasant. the 6131 uses the bb5 locking system and only the network you bought it off can supply the code

This group of Nokia can only be unlocked by acquiring the unlock code form the operator to which they are locked too.

5300 can only be unlocked via code from provider , dont go and buy any of the fake bb5 code generators on ebay, They are FAKE and dont work. give it a year or 2 and people will crack these new phones

hardlocked = if you try 3 or more wrong codes the phone will hardlock and will need to be unlocked in an unlocking shop...

Hi there,

Hope someone can help me!! I'm thinking of buying a new phone, more specifically the Nokia 5300 (red and white slide phone).
Thing is Meteor seam to be the only phone provider selling it, pay as you go. I'm pay monthly with O2.
Now, if I buy the handset with Meteor can I get it unblocked somewhere for €15/€20? (where?)
And if I do that, will my O2 pay monthly sim card work as soon as I put it in?

Hi lads. If i have a dongle or a cable can i unlock my 6230i with it if i buy all the software? Its hard locked because the generator gave me wrong codes I made sure i entered the right IMEI and all that but it still wouldnt work for me. Now the new phone i have will cost me even more money

If it's under warranty Nokia can flash the firmware for you - basically reset the phone. Then you can use the correct code to unlock it.

The only cost is your busfair to a Nokia repair centre.

Go into a Nokia centre and pay them to do it. 20 or 30 Euro I should imagine. Easier than playing around with cables.

One of two of the lads here have the equipment/software - maybe one of those could do you a favour either?

i'm 99.9% sure flashing the phone won't affect the lock status of the phone.
