Im with o2 pay as you go at the moment. If i ring them up and ask them to unblock my phone as I have spend well over the amount of credit needed will it take long? Will the phone be sim free as I want to change to meteor. Do i just need my imei number?

Need to know what model of phone it is

If it is Nokia, they will probably be able to hand it out immediately

Its a motorola V3 Razr. Spent a **** load of cr last week ringing the same person and want to change to meteor phone a friend for free. Have you any idea about they unblocking v3s? Do they send a code to your phone?

Usually what customer care do is check and see if the codes on the system. If it is then you get the code and instructions on how to unlock on the phone call.

If not, they'll request it and you ring back a few days later or whatever.

as long as the phone has been topped up with 150 euro not including free registration credit and you have the imei (get it by dialling *#06#) and the code is on the system theyll give it to you straight away,ring from someone elses phone or a landline though theres nothing more annoying than trying to give someone an unlock code which they can enter as theyre using their phone, then ringing them back to find out they put it in wrong,they ring back,you ring back etc etc

I'm assuming you mean UNLOCK (not UNBLOCK, a very different thing altogether). Providing O2 are happy with the spend they should provide you with the code required to let you use any SIM. You could always tell them you want to put the exiting SIM an an iPhone and will pass the existing handset to your partner!

I bought a Nokia 6100 from a UK seller on Ebay as 'unlocked' but it keeps asking for a 'restriction code'. I contacted the seller who insists that it is unlocked and that it was originally on Orange, but had the restriction removed and was using a T-mobile sim card.

I have tried both meteor and 02 SIM cards in it to no avail. Does anyone know where I can get an unlocking code for it?

Could you please provide instructions on how to enter any unlocking code eg should the new SIM card be in or out etc.

Well lads.
I bought a n-70 on vodafone.ie today.The woman in the shop said id be able to unlock it on vodafone.However i went on vodafone.ie and i couldnt.Rang up vodafone customer care and they said i have to put €127 worth of credit on it before they will give me the unlock code.
This happen to anyone else?I know you cant unlock it using standard unlock code calculators.
Any advice greatly appreciated..

Seach is your friend :-)

Anyway N70 is BB5 platform so no calc can provide a code, only Vodafone can, however most unlocking shops can unlock them via hardware now

Had a search but couldnt find anything.
Anyway its all sorted now.Rang up vodafone again and a guy gave me the code.Nothing about having to top up.

This is a Nokia 6100?
If you want codes, What network is it locked to?

Varies between models whether you put in sim from the network it's locked to, no sim or "foreign sim". Get the correct code first, then try. If it doesn't respond to code, move on.
