Hey, where are you based? Most independent mobile phone shops, i.e. non-network, offer unlocking for the RAZR. Also you can get online and pay about e20 for the software. You usually need a mini-USB cable with the Motorola phones, I know some RAZRs come with a USB cable attached to the charger, like the Blackberrys.

Try these guys online for Moto unlock - http://www.fonefunshop.co.uk/Unlocking/v3server.htm

I also like the cheeky approach of just asking the network's customer service department for the unlock code/subsidy password. Nine times out of ten they'll get it for you.

I had to have the SIM in while doing it though, otherwise I'd get "emergency number only" errors.

Too much of the thread to read and go through, I was wondering if these phones can be unlocked? I wish to use my southern Vodafone SIM as normal but also to be able to use an O2 UK Genie SIM when I'm up North.
Can this be done, or will I need a new phone?

i couldn't just give you the imei number and you could do it over the net? .. i thought there would have been a way around buying the credits and using a cable by now?

Hi, I just bought a Nokia 8310 brand new but it is locked to Virgin UK.

Tried codes from unlock.nokiafree.org but no joy. Have used up my 5 attempts now

If anyone knows the Virgin "Undo lock" code or can unlock it with a cable, I would be very grateful if you could contact me.

Unfortunately cannot be done by IMEI, only way is a credit and cable, or someone with the correct hardware.
