Positive it is T-Mobile Ok, even thou it pops up T-Mobile Meteor in Ireland, but I'm sure tis just bouncing off the Meteor network. How do I try it without a sim, just says insert sim?

    it's the i version of the 6230

You can still enter code with a sim

When phone says Insert Sim Card

Hitting the * key multiple times will give you the *, p, w and + characters, then enter the numbers (no spaces, they are only there to make it easier to read) and finally the # button

Thanks for bearing with me. Yeah can enter the code with no Sim, but when I do there is no option to continure, that is I enter the code and there is no enter button or anything like that.

No, make sure you have the all the characters entered, i.e. #pw+ at the start followed by all digits without spaces and ending in #.

if it doesn't do anything with no sim in, try putting a foreign sim in (as in one its not locked to). it'll give you the option to undo the lock. enter it there

I just got a Motorola L6. Anyone who has a soft to generate unlock codes or knows a place where they would do it for cheap in Dublin ?

    Cheers !

Only your operator can supply the codes, plus the L6 is not an easy phone to unlock as it has to be disassembled to enable access to a test point on the motherboard

    OK thanks :)

I am French and in France the operators have to give you the unlock code for free after 6 months. Is there something like that in Ireland?

Depends on the operator, if you are pre pay you have to top up by a certain amount before they will give you the code, if you are billpay you normally get a code quickly (the exception is 3)

Thanks ... I'm pre pay with Meteor, I will ask them about this sometimes next week.

Edit: I was just on the phone with Meteor's customer service, and they give for free as soon as you have toped up by €120.

Can only be unlocked by Vodafone, no third party unlocker is available, 6630 like all BB5s have only be unlocked by the network.

No BB5 refers to Nokia, however the Sharp 550SH can only be unlocked by Vodafone at the moment

Can a 3-branded Sony Ericsson K608i be unlocked? Also, is it possible to stick generic firmware on it so I can manually select network?
