Just type it in, pressing the + key multiple times gives you the +, p and w characters.

When u enter the code the phone should say restriction removed.

Alternatively put in a sim from another operator and phone will prompt you for the code

No, no BB5 phone can be unlocked except by the network, same question has been asked loads of times here already.

Plus 3 claim they cannot get unlocking codes.

    but they're lying

I was actually looking for the code for a friend but he's just told me that 3 say they will give him the code if he pays them €536. Needless to say, he doesn't want to do that.

You can only get the unlock code from the operator. Otherwise you'll have to drop it in somewhere to be unlocked.

    Howdo,
Before I start let me apologise for my ignorance as Im unaware what a bb5 phone is :o although im guessing that it is a 3g phone. I was thinking of getting a motorola v3x with 3ireland and getting it unlocked to work on meteor but after reaading your post i take it that there is nowhere other than 3ireland that would be able to unlock the phone ?
    cheers, Aidan

BB5 is only for Nokia. Your V3X can be unlocked by test point unlocking.

    Hi all.

Looking for help unlocking a Nokia 6020

    Model - 6020
    Serial - 357613004603683
Network - O2 Ready to go.

    Thanks.
Also when entering the code are the spaces between the numbers entered as spaces when you type the code in?
If yes how do you get the space? The usual space is zero only?

Dont enter spaces, they are only there to make it easier to read

sorru cos im a bit in the dark about this

cant see the n80 mentioned anywhere, but is it the bb5 phone?

does that mean that 3G phones can only be unlocked by the operator?

    cheers

    N80 is a BB5.

Only Nokia BB5 can be unlock by the unlock code form the network operator. 99% of other 3G phones can be unlocked without code.

BB5 is a Nokia platform, the N80 is one of these and they can only be unlocked by the operator, unfortunately 3 is one of the worse operators to unlock phones

If you are buying one from eBay make sure the seller agrees to provide you with an unlock code as part of the sale and pay by paypal
