if i buy a nokia 6230i on vodafone ready to go is it possible to get it unlocked immediately using a dct4 calculator?

also if i want to install the generic nokia firmware is this possible? what equipment would i need to do this myself.

Yes, just post the IMEI in the unlock thread

You need special equipment to flash the 6230i which will cost several hundred Euro, so you would be better having someone flash it for you, normal cost would be around €20

wow just checked the price on voda €189 for RTG 6230i

or €119 on o2 for same with free bluetooth headset.

i assume that the 6230i on o2 can be unlocked also..

i would prefer to be able to flash any nokia phone myself, can you get genuine hardware , (NOKIA) to do this or is it 3rd party cracked/hacked firmware files that you use?

i know a JAF box would do this, but what else do i need along with the JAF box?

Yes can be unlocked, no matter what network is on it.

A Nokia Service Centre will probably flash it with the latest generic firmware for you; to flash it yourself you will need one of the flashing boxes, a 6230i fbus cable and access to flash files. Also if you haven't done it yourself before you would be better going to a service centre or a third party shop

Double checked codes and they are correct, perhaps check your IMEI ?

Enter *#06# to display on screen in case different from stick on back.

Otherwise it will need to be unlocked via hardware, where are you located?

rang Vodafone IE Customer Care, they said no, ring Vodafone UK... i was dreading it but VF UK did it in 2 mins and said they will email the code to me within a few days.. Granted I gave them my Vodafone work email, maybe thats what did it for me. im a corporate whore.. ole

The IMEI that I posted is correct and none of these codes work so I contact Vf Australia and they give me a code, but it seems I only have three attempts with this so theirs wont work either.

Actually, im looking to change to three, I was looking at their phones but there isnt a large selection so I was thinking of just buying a new vodafone phone and then changing to three with it.

Is it possible to unlock the Nokia 6070 remotely? I saw a company on the net doing it for €6.99, unlock123.com I reckon. Would you go for that? Besides, if remote unlocking is possible, why is it not free for this model, like for many others?
