how do you change the extention to .mp3 when its seen as a .zip file

either unzip it. if its not a valid zip file then right click on the file, choose rename from the options menu and change the extension from .zip or whatever to mp3

    easy peasy.
believe me. it does work. if you cant do that i'll start to respect my american callers coz i found someone to make their intelligence gleam wink.gif

    Hi,
gz is the extension for gzip, its a unix standard compression. So decompress it smile.gif Don't think winzip does the fo0rmat, but theres bound to be a gunzip on download.com.
Or if that fails, install linux and use that one wink.gif

No you just rename it to .mp3....people upload these mp3's to free web sites like geocities as .gz so they wont be deleted by the admin people.

    its a common trick.

ppl store them in a directory called "images" or somthing and name them with a .sit, .class , .gz extension or whatever. I've even seen some disguised as MS word 6.0 docs smile.gif...bit of a shock for the poor sap who tries to open it.
