Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    XP sees no Audio Device
What's listed under sound, video and game controllers in Windows Device Manager?

(Now, enable Show Hidden devices and state..)

did you reinstall windows from the recovery cd?

if so the cd should have all the drivers you need for the audio device.

have a look on the cd for something like realtek sound manager . thats what i needed to install on my emachine after i reinstalled the os.

Is the sound supplied by onBoard audio (e.g. RealTek AC '97) from the motherboard or is your sound coming from a PCI card you put in yourself?. If it's PCI you'll have to reinstall the drivers that came with the cards cd, if it's onBoard and you can't remember the make of onBoard audio, use Belarc advisor to query your motherboard to find out what the audio controller is, then go to the manufacturers website to get a driver for it. That should work...

I have an AC 97 too c-media, and its the same problem, didnt autodetect my audio, wtf. I thought this card was pretty standard, oh well.
Im just kinda getting back into windows again, using it at work too, and just installed it on a spare HD at home.
