Chelsea to win at Liverpool, United to beat Benfica and Arsenal to draw at Ajax.

Anyone know when the transfer window is open again in the fantasy football? I have to find a long-term replacement for Heinze. :(

every week, isnt there a free transfer, 1 per week like in premier league one?

there is no transfer window. you get one free transfer every week. every other transfer will cost you 4 points off your score.

I reckon Arsenal could sneak it at Ajax tonight....they have the element of suprise in that Ajax wont know any of the Gunners players on the pitch

As an Arsenal fan, I'd start with Lupoli tonight. This is about as weak and injury-devastated as we're gonna get, and I wanna see the young reserves' goal machine in the first team soon.

This is f**ked up....have 2 player injured but when I try to transfer one it takes 2 points off me....I have made one transfer so far and that was after the first week but none since......do they onnly allow one per round???? thats what it seems like!!

Wats up with Bergkamp? same cr*p where he wont travel? I brought him in because everyone was saying with Henry out they would send him over to Holland for this game.....damn you Wenger!

Looks like I will be off the top after this round!

gonna go with Arsenal to win here, as mentioned earlier, the element of surprise, this is as long as Freddie is not up front.
I'd love to see Lupoli or Quincy start up with Reyes, just cant see it.

And benfica to win, because Utd's players are injured.

    Gotta love the optimism :)

Hopefully Quincy starts. I'd say we would be lucky to get a draw here considering all the injuries we have.

Yeah sadly enough, Arsenal games on Irish telly seem to be very thin on the ground this year..............

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

Ljungberg is going to start in attack with Reyes. Quincy will only start if Pires fails his fitness test. I'd like to see Quincy or Lupoli start, but on the other hand they can be very effective subs against tired legs. If Wenger starts with the experienced players and they keep it tight for 70 mins, Quincy or Lupoli could come off the bench to grab a winner like Lupoli did against them a few months ago.

Anyway, I don't think Arsenal will lose tonight. Ajax are no great shakes, the current side is probably their weakest team of the last 15+ years. They are also likely to be missing Sneijder, Trabelsi, Rosales, Mitea, Maxwell, Stekelenburg, and possibly Maduro and De Jong. There will be a lot of inexperienced players out there for both sides tonight.

Lets hope I make a bit of cash tonight. Im not sure what game to watch tonigh. Probably the Barcelona game. For those of you who want to watch the Arsenal game its being streamed on either ATV or DragonTV on PPLive tonight

Jesus, I can't believe Messi is only 18. After seeing him play 12 minutes he looks to have more potential than any other player in the world atm. :)

My fantasy football team did well. Only 4 players played tonight. Zambrotta got an assist and a clean sheet so 9 points. Pires scored. Deco scored. and my captain Makaay bloody well scored but it was ruled out incorrectly for offside. Still 27 points from 4 players isn't bad.

I also put €50 in my PP account today. Put €40 on Barca, Bayern and Juve and got just over €80 back. I'll slowly build that up into the hundreds. :)

    Tonights (Wednesdays) action sees:

    Anderlecht vs Real Betis Away
FC Porto vs Artmedia Bratislava Home
    Inter Milan vs Rangers Home
    Liverpool vs Chelsea Draw
    Real Madrid vs Olympiacos Home
    Rosenborg vs Lyon Away
Schalke 04 vs AC Milan Draw

Some tough games to call there. As a bit of a banker im going to for a Real Madrid Inter Milan double I will have to think about my second bet. My predictions are above.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,013 ✭✭✭✭eirebhoy

    Bankers:

    Real
    Inter
    Porto

Anything could happen in the other games. I'll go for the 3 above to win and the rest of the games to end in draws. :)

I put my €80 in my PP account on Porto as I felt they were the most likely to win.

Anyone see the fuss over Ronaldinho's jersey last night?

He agreed before the game to give it to the Udinese coach, and at the end one of the players asked to swap and he had to refuse, but kinda signalled "call me" to him.

The coach got the jersey in the end. Very funny stuff. Imagine being Ronaldinho, so much skill, the best player in the world, and all your opponents wanting your jersey... So much so, in fact, that your opposing manager asks for your jersey before a game!

I'm amazed his head hasn't exploded.
