G1 is looking to sponsor a new team so if there's anybody out there who thinks they have what it takes send your footage. Check the team section on the g1 website for more info. Spaces are limited so hurry!!!

Not being funny now but in fairness ... it should at least have prices !!

Skating in Ireland has peeks and dips, i'll give it that but one way to at least make the most of a peek is selling online ...

    www.buy.ie
    www.paypal.com

These are viable ways of selling products online .... kids all over the country counting their clammy coins, waiting till they have enough for a new deck .... he's miles from anywhere .... in the middle of Birr or somewhere remote like that with a local shop that doesn't know what a skateboard is, not to mind find out who supplies them.

Kids of 14 in rural Ireland dont just jump on a bus and away to a city that sells a deck, they go to a local library and buy one online.

They pay for the deck ... they pay for postage ... they get a deck ... and the enterprising store that starts selling thme online makes a killing.

Would have thought it was simple ..... but it just aint happening !! :(
Sure what hope is there !!

in fairness to you sir, this thread was about kids being sponsored.;)

And you can afford to sponsor kids by making more online sales - otherwise they go spending in the likes of Legends, Route One, etc. in the UK, who couldn't give a **** about us or skating for that matter.

that is a piss-take, right? Get a look at Collective or any of the older Irish skate videos like Hidden. If your skating is up to par with any of those sections, then you're worthy of sponsorship - not if your footage consists of throwing a box at your neighbourhood skanger and putting a rollerblader in there along with some lame, half assed attempts at Jackass style "comedy".

Exactly ... and its not only making more money ... its providing a service for kids who can identify with G1 as its Irish !!

For everyone one skater that ventures to a store like G1, there are another twenty left behind.

Its not just Irish kids either, anyone can use it, uk and european kids ... obviously a high postage fee there.

Instead of kids having to spend money on getting to a store, they could be spending it on a set of wheels or trucks !!
