this might not be the right forum, but here goes anyway. ever since we got broadband into the house, the fax, which is plugged into the splitter beside the bb connection, will not send or receive anything. unplug the bb router, and the fax works fine. i have no idea what the problem is. if i connect a phone, it won't work, regardless of whether the router is plugged in or not. strange problem i know, really hoping someone here can help me out. the main problem is the fax though, since we've another line for the phone. all help really appreciated

Seems a strange problem allright though I'm not sure if I understand you. Did you disconnect everything from the main phone socket and just used the filter and a phone? Can your fax make ordinary calls?

Just a couple of suggestions, as I had the same problem.....

Firstly, try changing the phone cable between the fax & the splitter. My existing 2 wire cable that came with the fax (and worked fine until I had BB installed) ceased to work as soon as the BB router was connected. I replaced it with a 4 pin cable (4 pins just being coincidence I think ?) and it works fine.

IF that doesnt work, try connecting the fax to a dsl port on a splitter - I've known this work too
