Anyone notice the Sunday Business Post article claiming that ISDN = Broadband ? It's got to be a joke and Maybe IOFFL should let them know directly....

Two in three SMEs go for broadband

Almost 70 per cent of all small businesses in Ireland have installed a broadband telephone line within the last year, according to a survey carried out by Computers In Business and the Small Firms Association (SFA).

Of those broadband lines, 80 per cent were ISDN lines  and 20 per cent leased lines. The length of time it took to install lines varied from two weeks to over 12 weeks.

um, if it's "Computers in Business" and the "Small Firms Association" who carried out the survey, shouldn't it be them who are enlightened, as opposed to the SBP, who're just passing on the message?

I would venture to say that Eircom's usage of the term "hi-speed" for its, in reality, low-speed ISDN product may have caused the entire confusion in the first place. Seriously Eircom: ISDN is NOT a "hi-speed" product. Those ads make it sound like ADSL, which it clearly isn't. Also, in northern Ireland, you can get flat-rate ISDN at a relatively affordable FIXED monthly cost. How can Eircom justify charging 10x what it costs in Northern Ireland (assuming you actually use it on a regular basis)?

Edit: The answer to my last question is simple: GREED.
