Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm surprised that more people haven't gone bonkers yelling to the rooftops about how filled with joy they are that the new system doesn't include the 'karma' option...

It caused far more arguments than it was worth really when Boards was on UBB.

Anyway... it appears it's now gone... will it be missed?

We knew Karma had a limited lifespan as it was... but we'll be looking at hacks etc later.

For now we want to get boards.ie back on its feet and ready to rumble. Cloud's worked his ass off on this so bear with us while we straighten stuff out.

Yes instead we have private messaging and "report this post to moderator". Both you will never be able to read what we post about you. :p

I'm sure someone somewhere will bitch about that.

Glad to see it go, the "report this post to a moderator" i feel is a far better option.
At least that way hopefully mods can no longer justify a power trip if no-one reading the tread has complained. (unless its something thats needs locking straight away, ie porn racism etc)

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

And who decides whats porn and whats rascist?

Its always a judgement call but its true, a complaint system will help....

Almost noone ever thinks about "censorship" when they suggest the things they'd censor...
