Paddy Ashe, a founder of the NTSA and a pistol shooter for many years with the Army, passed away yesterday.

Paddy drifted away from shooting for some years, but recently returned to the sport with the reintroduction of pistols, and travelled all the way from Tralee to take part in the first open air pistol match in the country in 32 years this year, where he placed third in the competition. One of the most far-flung members of Wilkinstown Target Shooting Club, Paddy was well liked by all, and will be missed.
