Getting a car back from the Garda pound

Can anyone tell me what is required to get a car back out of the pound if it was impounded for non-display of tax and insurance? I presume the logbook to prove it's yours, but would you need to have both tax and insurance discs before they will let you take it away?

You'll need to have the tax and insurance sorted and the little matter of the fine.

They will not allow it out without your insurance certificate and 'disc', your tax paid and the disc. Bear in mind that they are charging you for everyday that your car is in the pound.
