Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Symantec is a pest

Every no and then when I boot up my PC I get an error message about Symantec and Norton files, which cannot be found. Among others Navap. uxd or vxd.
I then have to do a Search through the register to eliminate any references to Norton and Symantec.
Not only that, it changes the dial up number from eircom to indigo, erases my AVG and Acrobate reader.

I had Symantec on my PC two or three years ago, before I switched to AVG.

Why is Symantec then acting like a nasty virus on my PC?

    what version do u have?

personally I have had nearly every version since 2000 and I have very rearly had any problems with it and mainly they have been attached to other OS probs.

Have you tried a complete wipe and reinstall. Norton works best when it is the 1st thing installed onto your pc, even before any SP updates or anything. Just wipe, OS, Norton, Norton updates, OS updates, more norton updates (just check incase) and the all other crap

apart from the fact that a reinstall is a last resort:

    try this: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Norton-Removal-Tool.shtml

Sounds like the standard dodgy symantec uninstaller
take a look around the site for manual uninstall guides for your version.

try reinstalling it and then uninstalling it when in safe mode don't forget reboots in between.
