Hehe... Sean in Zulu had it on his T-shirt today when I was getting mine done.

    Cool!

I have heard good things about Sean.

You must post your tattoo so people can see what an art form tattooing really is!

If the tattoo is small and meaningful and "girly" then yes...very sexeh.

A butterfly on your hip sounds like you want a tattoo but cant think of one you REALLY want so are just picking what looks good in your opinion just to say you have one. I could be wrong though.

Hate the "handlebar" celtic tattoo's on womens lower backs. Small nice and hidden but visible in the right clothing ;) .

I haven't got a tattoo myself yet, I was bought one for my 21st by my then g/f but never got it done because I couldn't decide on something I wanted, something that was mine. IMO a tattoo should have a story. I'm still waiting for that story.

eh..i say yes to tattoos on girls
but im a girl and im tattooed
hopefully getting new one...either in january or before....yippee

but if you really want a butterfly, then get it...
ut try and look for something more personal and make suer it's what you want
the fact that you want something small and hideable, sounds liek you're not sure about it and you want it done for the sake of having it done..

I was in Tattoo Zoo last week and this girl came in looking at the flash and she was asking prices for the TINIEST fairy and she wanted it even smaller..it would of actually been a dot...it was stupid...

That's a really good way of putting it.

The way i see it a tattoo is the most selfish gift you can get, you can't lose it, you can't sell it, for all intensive purposes it can't be stolen so if your getting yourself something don't you think you deserve something that you'll treasure. " a thing of beauty is a joy for ever"
Back on topic well thought out tats on girls YAY! one picked from a flash book with no real thought gone into it NAY.
Remember folks you'll always get the tattoo you deserve.

I've seen some really nice flash designs but I could never let myself get them...not for me

I remember when I drew the design of the tattoo i have now, I knew it was the one I wanted 110%..but I drew it when I was 14 so I had to wait...lol! so I waited just over 2 years and got it done at the start of this year and I love it, it felt right, and it's very me..
now Im trying to come up with designs for a new one, that Im gonna get as a present to me for my 18th,but nothing is giving me that 110% feeling that my first one did, so thats how i know they're not right, and theres no point in getting something that I'm only 90% sure about!!!
Seeing as it's gonna be there for the rest f my life i can wait and make it as good as possible!
but i think tattoos on girls are damn sexy...but one's that look meaningful, like nicce pretty girly tattoos can be cool...but once it looks like it hasnt been picked from a book of flash and 100 other people have it!!

Nah, wouldn't find it attractive on a girl

If its done right, but most girls do it wrong and it looks manky

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 958 ✭✭✭porn_star

i guess at the end of the day, its each to their own...
if people are happy with small flash designs just for the sake of having a tattoo, its up to them, but the same can be said for guys..i know some who'v gotten flashm and it just boils down to wanting to be 'cool and in with the crowd' so to speak....

personnaly, i lvoe big ass tattoos on girls, i think they look deadly..
im not a lesbian by the way, i just think it looks good!lol!

Nay!! A tattoo is not a piece of jewellery you can leave off when it goes out of fashion. It is there for keeps (unlees you want surgical removal later). And it is guaranteed like everything else to look crap in a couple of years.

To me a tattoo ( on a male or female) says "cheap", "unoriginal", "Tallaght".

I recken on the upper or lower back, The bicep/tricep area or the upper leg are damn hot. I once new a girl who had a rose with the lenth of the stem down here Thigh. Looked really good as she had nice muscle tone and it set them both (her legs) off very nicely.

Who cares what other people think?

I am not sure about you but I don't have people constantly coming up to me asking about my tattoos or wanting to touch them.

    Ain't you lucky!!

If you are afraid that you won't get a job because you have a tattoo you need to start looking for another type of job. Jobs that judge you by appearance don't generally value you as a person or value your skills.

There are plenty of people who work in the corporate world who are COMPLETELY covered in tattoos and still manage to retain their jobs!

To those who think that tattoos are only for lowlifes and criminals you need to get with the times or look outside your own little world...

Ok bare with me, twice in the past few days I've typed out really long responses to this and when I've gone to post them my browser has had a hissy fit - so I'm going to have to do it bit by bit through editing!

I really wish that quote about tattooed people versus non-tattooed people was true. The Irish modified community is not one big happy family! I've personally noticed that I've gotten very different reactions from some of the tattooed and pierced people I've met before and after they realised that I too was pierced and tattooed. There's also a lots of snobbery regarding whether you have custom or flash or how big or small it is.

I love the job I'm in right now - the work itself is enjoyable, the group of people I work with are lovely and it's fairly well paid. I'm pretty confident I could get sleeves and not get fired or disciplined - but I choose not to. Like I mentioned before, I got my tattoos for me not for any one else and I feel no need to have them on display 24/7.

i agree on all points. i have one piece on my upper arm, my own design, but i had the design in my head for about 3 years before i put it onto paper, then nearly another year to get under the nedle. 6 years later, no regrets, and i'm planning some kind of celtic/tribal/wings type thing for my upper back. i'm not in a hurry with it though, as i want to make sure i get the right one. i've seen several good patterns, but none that feel right, so i'll probably end up draughting my own, then merging with others to see if something grabs me on paper, before i get in the chair for a few more hours.

as for the tats on girls question. there is no one answer. i've seen designs i can't stand look really good, and designs i like took tacky. IMHO, it depends on the person, the design, the placement, and how it's worn.

personally, i'd never get anything that can't be covered by shorts and a tshirt, partly because i'm getting it done for me, and partly 'cos there are too many numbnutts who think tatoo = thug.

I suppose this is just the start of a long list of preconceptions you have, I mean Tallaght ffs, what does tallaght have to do with tattoos. If only personal abuse were not a banning offence.

    I totally disagree...
I've seen tattoos that have been on older friends of mine for absolute years and still look great...
as for looking cheap...the only tattoos that I'd classify as looking 'cheap' is those ones that every girl gets on her hip/back of a fairy or butterfly that's taken from a piece of flash and is one of teh ones that occupy a lot of tattooed young girls skin..
as far as looking 'cheap'...I wouldn't think that way at all..especially considering the amount of money that people put into their bodys...
unoriginal....again, maybe those people who pick one of the popular designs off flah....but as far as people who are actually tattooed and design they're own stuff...I don't think so.

but again, each to their own...but I wouldn't judge someone for having a tattoo...but then again I have one myself...
but likewise I wouldn't judge someone who's not tattooed.

anywhere...depends how the person carrys it though.
I have a friend and she has all her back tattooed..it's gorgeous.
I know another girl and shes actualy a tattooist, but shes covered and its just so beautiful..and so colourful..
    I like it...
The heavily tattooed people I know, I couldn't imagine them without them...it just looks so good on them..
And I know some people have preconceptions of some women who are heavily tattooed being 'butch' or knackers..but known of the ones I know are like that...just normal woman, that look super good!!

it depends on the girl and how she carries herself

a certain girl could have sleeves done and look like the most confident and attractive girl around, on the other hand u could have a manky looking skanger with a dirty irish flag on her arm and a nike hat. its all relative :)

Well seeing how we all know you so well, your tastes and ultimately what you like, we have all sat down together and decided it would be best on your forehead, I mean think about it, makes perfect sense. It was a unanimous decision with no one opting for your glans which someone had suggested originally.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭amazingemmet

Personally i'd like to register my vote for the glans. it'll be a definite conversation point
