I like these trees that only show up between 7 and 10pm every night. I used to hear this from IBB all the time. Strangely one day when half their network went off line, all the trees disappeared, the pings halved, and I got the advertised speeds for the first time ever.

Will the guys having latency problems PM me your details. I need some tests done that could possibly sort out the problem which will then be implemented as a full time solution.

    Thanks

Not a happy camper with my metro this morning.

Browsing the net as normal no problems, fast speed good pings no packet loss.
Then a download pauses, i then see the modem has reset itself.

tons of packets loss up to 78%, i dont know why now, my service was excellent till now, it may be a small issue that your probably ironing out.
Till then im back on the DSL.

Chaz has been extremely helpful and informative over the past few days for me, but with a connection this unreliable I'm nearly brought to tears while trying to game.

    *sighs*

For me in Cork my Metro phone service is either appalling or doesn't work at all full stop. Now Digiweb used this as a sweetener to people like me, to switch from other providers because no line rental etc, but it just doesn't work, or it sounds like total s***e to me and this isn't a service it's a joke. and if it doesn't seriously improve in the next week or so I will withdraw from my contract with Digiweb since they failed to provide what they were contracted to provide. I would like Chaz or Crawler to give us all some kind of explanation for the poxy phone service. When I finally move from esat/eircom in the coming weeks and have to rely on Metro's service to talk to work related people here and overseas the prospect is worrying me, and is also pissing my wife off a great deal trying to speak to family members in France line drops, echo, echo and far far far away. Forget that, it just might be acceptable if the calls were totally free as in Skype otherwise it's hopeless. CHAZ we need CONSISTANCY with this service.

I'm not in such a position - There's no one but Digiweb that can provide internet to me without requiring a phone line (which we don't have)
    :(

Looks like I spoke too soon.... my connection's gone to hell, dropping packets everywhere :(

Anyone have a support number for Digiweb? And any idea what hours it's open? The only one I can find is the sales line and there's no answer from that.

Aware of the issue - working on it.

Mine is down totally also.. Just get an ip assigned, internet light remains on, PC link light flashes and that's it.

It went down at 7pm for a few minutes then came back, then went again at 7:30pm and hasn't been up since.

Can I you try something (I assume youve rebooted it)?

See if you can open a web browser to 192.168.1.1 - this should work while it is 'offline' and see if you get a basic cable modem info page?

Kaiser - can you do the same?

I've rebooted it - same thing - but I have it connected through a 3com Officeconnect Wireless router so that address gives the status of that router.

Current status (as reported by the router):
    PPP over Ethernet Enabled No
Internet IP Address 192.168.100.xx Dynamic IP (address removed but it does give one)
    Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
    ISP Gateway Address 192.168.100.1 Connected
    DNS 0.0.0.0 ; 0.0.0.0

Can you connect directly to the modem?

Try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.100.1 (youll see the right one if you connect to the modem directly - check the IP range it gives you)

If the modem gives you 192.168.100.10 - then use 192.168.100.1 in your browser and visa versa. I cant remebre the default IPs off hand - check what the modem gives you.
