Imagine someone saying 5 years ago that you would, in 5 years, be unhappy with a 300kbps connection, as you were struggling to get 2.5kbps on 56k :D

apparently the bad latency is due to an upgrade that needs to take place on 3rock(in dublin)which is where the users are experiencing the bad latency

yeah, but would they also say how unhappy you would be getting 300kbps when you are paying for 4mb :D

My metro service is a bit haywire at the moment. However I have noticed an improvement on my stats.

I used to be -24dBmV now im -12.
    RF Parameters
    Downstream
    Frequency Power	-12 dBmV
Signal to Noise Ratio	26 dB	Modulation	QAM64
    Upstream
    Frequency Power	59 dBmV
Upstream Data Rate	5120 Ksym/sec	Modulation	QPSK

I do seem to be getting upwards of 62% packet loss.

    Download speed 115k
    Upload speed 314k
    QoS 7%
    Round trip time 43ms
    Max pause: 1281ms

I've given up with it. Luckily I have a second broadband connection which I use. Every few days I plug Metro in to test it but it hasn't improved at all. Pings all over the place, lots of loss and lower than 1Mb download speed on a 3Mb connection.

yeh,me too,got an e-mail from digiweb yesterday, offering to cancel metro free of charge,no contract fee's.doesnt take a genius to figure out what i did :).ordered eircom, know im being ripped-off but once my pings are good,im happy

    Folks,

There were a very small number of installs done at the start that frankly should not have been allowed. This is based on what we know now. As we always said, it was a learning curve for Digiweb too. These have been identified and if appropriate we will deinstall the service.

Sparky-S - PLEASE can you give us a time where we can do a service call...we have been asking for this for a long time.

The last thing we want are unhappy Customers and to be fair there are thousands of very happy Metro customers. When things do go wrong we genuinely try to fix them. You will also see great improvements in a few weeks in all areas as we upgrade certain links etc.

We have also launched a Customer Survey to help us do things better - This can be found here.

    http://www.digiweb.ie/survey.asp

Anyway....hope some of this helps....Mods feel free to edit if you feel this is commercial (not intended)

Ok I was PMing Chaz, so if you like you can put a service call on the list for me, Tbh, you can set a day and time, just make sure I know a day beforehand so I can be local, it may be late notice but there will be somebody in this week, so if a call can be made tomorrow or friday that would be super.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,396 ✭✭✭✭kaimera

€300+ bill at the start of the week :( arse.

btw, when does the cap being again? at the start of April? or 4 weeks from when the stats page went up?

    Survey doesn't even work...

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e57'
String or binary data would be truncated.

I notice the survey ignores billing issues?? Speaking of which has anyone been onto Digiweb to complain about billing?

I got a bill. If your email details are wrong you won't.

The survey worked for me on firefox fine.

There has been no explanation on here as to why people's accounts were hit for several months' bills together and without warning - something clearly in breach of ipso's code on direct debits. That has absolutely nothing to do with email details!
