every time bard posts a message i see his post twice on the 20 most recent posts. i just noticed this last night and its still
happening, for me anyway. does anyone else see this?

so this is how he racked up that high post count. cheater! :)

Sure as I am that this image of yours isn't doctored ( :p ) - I noticed this too... just when the "latest 20 posts" list was added, incidentally... and it wasn't just my posts that were being doubled up in the list.

It appears to have been fixed since.

    So n'yah! :p

Weird!!!... sorry to doubt you there adnans, but I am only posting each reply the one time...

    I don't get it. I guess I'm "special" ;)

What's so special about meself and Monty, eh?

So good we mention them twice?

    Weird.

That IS weird, I see it too... only Bard so far... and only one post when I go to the thread...

Priority = Medium for sheer curiousity value.

Could it be related to this :

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27357

Except maybe now it isn't ordered correctly??????

the site was running UBB back then, Con... it's vBulletin now- that's gotta count for something.

I don't think my post count is going up by 2 each time, - it's just that I (and Monty - The One and Only) get mentioned twice on the "most recent 20 posts" list every time I post.

    Weird out, man

You have exactly 2 posts in each (at the moment)
Might be worth checking if this happens where you've only posted once or what happens when you post three times to a thread

i.e. if I'm right then previous posts in a thead are being stamped with the time of the most recent

Prob wrong but test it and see

Scratch that, just seen a thread where you've only one post and it's showing twice

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,309 ✭✭✭✭Bard

Do you guys know what's causing this yet?

It's dead weird - and it only seems to affect myself and Monty.

If you can sort it out, I'd like that.

    Cheers lads,

Me wonders if it's something to do with Opera. Perhaps the JavaScript that runs on the onSubmit method of the form is doing something in Opera that it shouldn't.
    Just a guess.
What version of Opera are you using Bard?

    I just tried to post with Opera v 5.02 and I couldn't...
    worth taking a look at.

    I think I've found it...

hovering over the *names* on the top 20, it's showing that one post was made by user 3978 ("Bârd" - not me) and the second post was made by user 1172 ("Bard" ... me :) ).

I suggest deleting the "Bârd" username (no. 3978), which was created by Dead{o}Santa to demonstrate a point about usernames back in August (in this thread).

    Cheers,

Anyone with an ounce of culture (..or access to google) knows that the quote is suppose to be "Dead for a ducat, dead!"

where i can i download this amazing little program.
not only has it made dev appear more intellectual with many big words (eg. marmalade) but has also given him the power to quoteth the man billy himself.
and i thought eating yoghurt was the closest he would ever get to culture
