Recomend VPN solution

Hi all,

Linking two customer sites with only one machine at either end. Was planning on using http://www.3com.com/products/en_US/detail.jsp?tab=features&pathtype=purchase&sku=3CR870-95 but it only supports passthrough doesnt actually link the two networks. Also was gonna use a smoothwall box but dont like the idea of having to build then support two barebones PCs to run it.

Anyone know of a simple out of the box solution for this? both ends have broadband and simply want to connect them together for filesharing etc. Specced them a 2003 server as well but they're not interested so must be cheap and simple if possible.

You don't need two VPN boxes. One VPN server at one site to support the client on the other end connecting in and you're done. You'll need a public IP address for the VPN of course and firewall & A/V on either end.

In terms of boxed appliances I don't know of anything specifically.

One of these at each end will do it as well and give you upgrade potential if you want to add more PC's. THey're around €80 ex VAT.

I've used them quite a lot and they do the job that you need.

I'd like to have a look at the other USB product that Gil_Dub suggested as that looks quite interesting too.
