Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know if it is possible to forcibly close a file that has been opened by a user from the file server?

Both the PC and the Server would be on the same LAN and on the same Windows Domain

    Thanks

    Yep.

On Win2k, WinXP, Server2k or 2k3, go into Computer Management (Start -> Run -> compmgmt.msc). Expand System Tools, then Shared Folders, and select Open Files. In the right-hand pane, right-click on the file you're looking for and choose "Close Open File".

You can also do this remotely from any machine, as long as you have admin rights on the target Server/Client.

    or at the command prompt

    net file
    net file IDnumber /Close

    net file | find "text"

will narrow it down if you type in user name or part of the file name
