    No, no I don't..
    Darcy is the only thing on in the daytime worth listening to anymore. Its not that hes brilliant or anything hes just the only thing approaching good on Irish daytime radio amongst the rubbish "comedy" on the strawberry alarm clock, the unbearable arrogance of Tubridy or just what a total and utter prick Gerry Ryan is.

    Hate Ray D'arcy, mostly due to the fact that he was a prick to one of my friends when we were in primary school.My friends had wriiten a book in 6th class for a competition and it was best in the country or something.Anyway he went up to dublin and met Ray D'arcy whom was giving my friend the prize.Anyway my friend,being a little kid, was talking away to Ray D'arcy and D'arcy just got pised offf really fast,grabbed my friend by the collar and said stfu you little idiot.Nope not liking him.

    You seem to have left something out. The part about why D'arcy got pissed off. Was your friend acting the prick by any chance.

    Nothing against D'arcy personally...like most of you I grew up with him on TV, Den, BB Jungle, etc.

    But I hate the radio show, the "team" :rolleyes:, the txt cntnt, and I especially especially despise fix it f*cking Friday;
    Jenny "Oooh look at me, I've got Google bookmarked and I'm going to use it! Quick! Phone me with your obscure question now!!....seriously just go away and pursue a career in data entry or something...

    That aside as someone above mentioned the show is the best of a bad bunch when you are restricted to the Irish FM band....and I'd have to say that it's main reason in doing so well in it's timeslot, is for the lack of any real competetion in the mid morning slot....I mean given a choice between Ryan "I can't wait for my free bus pass" Tubridy and Gerry "I'm man enough to talk about my vasectomy ad nauseum" Ryan, I'd sooner listen to ambient white noise, traffic, screaming children or whatever the alternative was...

    In conclussion, I don't mind Ray himself but I really can't see the attraction of his show or the "legendary" status it seems to have achieved on boards....I've also grown to dislike the fanboism that has grown up around it.

    @OP...looks like it's mp3 player time....either that or murder your coworker and dump his body in a remote location.

    The best analogy i can think of for Ray D'arcy is as nice affable individual, this carries the person a long way and people can identify with him. His fan base has grown with him for the den right through his radio career. I would struggle to say anything negative about him. He has been around a lot longer that Ryan Tubridy so comparsions are not that valid as RT is still ironing out the creases in his broadcasting style. Although a prevous poster said "Tubridy is the worst thing to happen to irish radio since that other knob end Gay Byrne." Now thats a complement if ever i heard one.

    I like Ray Darcy and his radio show. I only started listening to it earlier this year and like the fact that he and his team don't take themselves too seriously.

    I love Ray Darcy, he was one of the first boys I fancied - I was a Den TV kid, and Ray was my idol! Met him a few times since I have grown up and he has always been a gentleman!
