3G connect cards and Dell

Hello, anyone else having problems connecting to the web using a 3G card? I have spent six months trying to do so with Vodafone on a new Dell Inspiron 6000 only to keep being told 'SIM not ready.' A Colleague said she would try the O2 card and if it worked buy the Dell - great as I had to buy another one which the Vodafone does work on (Fujitso Siemens). However she cannot get the O2 to connect either so the laptop is of new no use to her and my visa card has had to carry the cost of both laptops.... anyone have a similar experience? I have not ruled out the possibility it is the connect cards as opposed to the laptop.

I used to do alot of support for those connect cards in the health board I was in I'd say uninstall the software and try get ahold of the very latest release *I think its at around 5.2* because there are issues with some of the earlier releases of vodafone mobile connect and dell laptops

Thanks, did you try to install on other laptops models? I found it worked for a very short time on a 4 year old Toshiba satellite pro and then ground to a halt, didnt even ask for the PIN. That partly led to me buying the Dell..

Yeah I've slapped them into old and new ibm's,fujitsu-siemens alot of the different models etc etc. and never had problems with them except when it came to dells. I had one that would just blue screen as soon as you opened the software.
