Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

On Sky1 now, looking forward to it. Last year was a great laugh.

Hope Sir Matt le Tissier gets a good run-out.

I hope the legends batter the celebs.

Matt Le Tissier has lost so much weight.

Yeah I hope the legends beat the 'celebs' 10-0.

Great save by Southall too, Hutton must have thought he was ging to score.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

A few of the celebs look alright. Harvey seems arrogant and cocky but he doesn't look half bad. Wilkes and Hutton look alright too.

Laughing my arse off at the size of Barnes and Southall though.

If anyone doubts the commitment, check out Wilkes head!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,677 ✭✭✭Chong

Southall is like the walrus of love.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

I'm waiting for Reid to get a hold of him after that earlier tackle.

Had to laugh when he slid in on Harvey.

Did you see that I would wet myself if Nige would rip into Philip Olivier.

    Brilliant! I love this game!

Ya its so funny , poor old Beardo has gone down injured.

    :)

Nutty, what a legend. He's played like Ashley Cole tonight!

How the celebs haven't scored amazes me.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 728 ✭✭✭randomfella

    what a final chance!!
Over 2-0 to the Legends, which they truly are. Too much talent for the celebs. THey had more fitness than i'd expected.

That last run by beardsly was class!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,117 ✭✭✭✭MrJoeSoap

Great game. What a goal that would have been from Beardso at the end! Great way to kill 2 hours on a Sunday evening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,677 ✭✭✭Chong

Enjoyable night glad the legends won.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

As was already said, wonder how much that team would have been worth in real money if they were all fit today. With a few notable exceptions like Batty and Albert and a couple of others.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

Batty was worth a fair bit in his day too. Moved from Leeds to Blackburn for £3 million which was quite a bit then.

Who got MOM by the way?

I actually really enjoyed the match last night. Much better than I thought it would have been. Saunders-Shearer bit was class. Great pass by Beardsley for the goal and amazing run at the end, deserved a goal for his efforts. Although I thought he was gonna have to be carried off after running for so much.

The legends really got stuck in this year. Think it was because they took the game for granted last year and wanted to prove a point.

I nearly burst laughing at that.
    Shearer looked so happy.
I bet Souness was p1ssing himself too. (another hamstring injury for newcastle)

Anthony hutton got MOM for celebs, but Southall got MOM for legends.

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

Saunders was superb for the legends too. Batty looked like he could probably still play premiership or championship football.

Le Tissier played 54 minutes, broke a nose and tore a calf.

    How the mighty have fallen.

    what was the shearer/saunders incident??

    what was the shearer/saunders incident??

Yep, I missed it too. I know something happened and Shearer was busting his hole laughing but what happened?

Hutton deserved it, he looked good. Fair play to Southall as well. Jesus, he was some size but he made some cracking saves.
