    Folks,

Just a question for you? I went with the missus to see Serenity yesterday and while it was entertaining, I seemed to be not enjoying it as much as everyone else appeared to. What am I missing out on? Do you need to have seen Firefly to have really appreciated Serenity? Are the two closely related?

I liked it, but was annoyed I wasn't enjoying it in the same way!!!

I think the film does a great job of getting the storyline right. We have enough catch-up to allow people who have never seen Firefly to enjoy the film.

But I do think that if you have seen the series certain events will play more effectively.
And of course you will learn so much more about the characters, and care a hell of a lot more too. imo of course.

I don't think you have to have seen 'Firefly' to really appreciate the film. I brought two friends who had never seen the show and they both absolutely loved it. But it's not for everyone, I guess.

Well I have to say, its a great standalone movie. but, yes. Seeing the TV show will give you a better feel for the characters and ship. If you can only get to see one of the episodes, look for one called "Out of Gass" It will give you a great feel for the ship and its crew.

But if you can get your hands on a DVD box set, do. You want be disapointed.

(that said, fox are making a ton of money off this once again. When all they done was feck it up and cancel it)
