five years in the making, the bbc produced Blue Planet series started last night. i quite enjoyed it and was taken back with images from the ocean and the detail the program went in to. from pictures of a blue whale, who is seldom filmed is seen in its full glory. the cool thing about it is, david attenborough gives us these crazy facts about the animal who has a tongue weighs as much as an elephant, its heart is the size of a car and some of its blood vessels are so wide that a human could swim in them. :) absolutely crazy facts, but true none the less.

it also showed dolphins trapping sardines with air bubbles so they can munch on them more easy, thousands of turtles coming to a beach in costa rica in a period of a three to four days to breed and lay 40 million eggs. squid that come up to the surface and lay eggs on the reef only to go back into the deep ocean and die. preety cool i would say, and the images are spectacular and breathtaking.

the best clips last night had to be when a pack of 15 killer whales attacked a mother and a calf gray whale. the gray whales were in the process of migrating when they were spotted by the killer whales who were hungry and attempted to successfully drown the calf so they can eat it. madness!!

watch it next week and youll know what i mean.
