Why not? Did you even attempt to go deeper than the first page of the feedback forum? The answer to your question was on the 2nd page. How difficult would that have been to discover I wonder?

Searching is indeed disabled. This is because of the server-explodyitus that boards caught. We're on a box that was loaned to us. We have a new set-up being sorted out, but to cut down the strain on the loaned box you can't search during weekdays until this is sorted.

Stickying this so we don't have to keep explaining it.

    Maybe a silly question.

If boards is hosted by hosting 365..Why do you need a server?

Is "hosted" a confusing word to use? They co-locate our servers.

i feel for ya pmk19. I got similarly abused for asking the question a week ago. since search is such a common function wouldnt it make sense to put a banner or something on the top of site saying whats wrong???

Also does annyone know when it will be back??

    Who's Aidin?

It'll be back next Monday, after a long outage of the site.

Not wishing to put words in his mouth, but perhaps he meant to type admin, rather than Aidin...

    Aidan_Walsh is what he meant.

Patience is a virtue, not a right. I can be civil when I like, such as when I wrote the "constantly bumped but nobody sees as nobody bothers to read other threads (or even their titles) before posting" Google workarounds for boards.ie search.

Was that civil enough? If not, all complaints to the usual address.

Thats probably the fault of star adserver. Try and use adblock for it and you will notice a speed increase
