I hate Tony with a passion but I havent seen his hairy chest in years so I dont care...he used to be DJ in my local club in Cavan 'Da Springs as it was called....he was useless...me and my mates used to go up and ask him to play something decent...answer "sorry cant I am just given a list by the manager!" ...so I said he wasnt a DJ just an expensive CD player and any gobsh*t could do that...he wasnt impressed and got me threw out....so every week from then on we would go up to Tony and just stand there saying "COOL, TONY COOL!!!"

You are mistaken - he won a Peter Marks voucher for having more hair than anyone else his own age and it wasn't civil rights stuff, it was civil ENGINEERING stuff back when he helped design the drains for the Finglas bypass. He should stick to pointing at maps and leave playing music to the professionals.

Dave Fanning used to be pretty good, but yeah you're right, he has gotten boring and mainstream in recent years.

It's a whole album on a 7" record. You can download the whole thing at www.warlordsofpez.com it's down the bottom of the main page as side 1 and side two or something. It's a mixed bag really. They have a good song about Padre Pio and a nice one about big robots that can't paint very well.

I can usually put up with a lot of crap DJ's on the radio but I have to turn him off. Looking at his picture on todayfm.com he reminds me of that evil painting from ghostbusters.

Fanning is the biggest cúnt on the radio. At least Fenton and the rest of them have accepted they're just a bunch of corporate whores with their put on accents and over-exhuberance. DF by comparison still thinks he's 'keeping it real', the tosser!

I don't think he's quite as evil as Vigo the Carpathian but I would be cynical about his motives.
Anyway, I hate Fenton also. I will gladly donate some of my free time in the interest of making him suffer. Ray Foley had a good little stab at him the other day when he was filling in for D'Arcy. He says "Stay tuned if you want to hear Tony Fenton talk about his sandwiches". Legend.

Agreed last October when John Peel died he was described as the "Dave Fanning of BBC Radio1" Typical parochial RTE adding insult to injury

BTW we can't do music radio in this country for **** because of the big fish in a small pond mentality of radio DJs. Only show I would listen to apart BBC radio 1 is pet sounds.

Donal Dineen is excellent but since he was shafted into the small hours I've hardly had a chance to listen to him. What I've heard of Dan Hegarty on 2FM sounds OK as well. Agree on Dave Fanning though - used to listen to his old show all the time 10-15 years ago. heard him the other day and he sounds just like every other crap jock (only faster).
