Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The New Wrestling Trivia Thread!

What with Smackdown now being on Friday night, this board seems to go a little quiet during the week so I'm going to try to relaunch the Wrestling Trivia Thread. Now, given that it's been a while since the trivia thread was active I thought we should called it something snappy, something exciting. Unfortunately the best I could come up with was "The New Wrestling Trivia Thread!" so that will have to do instead.

Like many of the trivia threads around here the rules are simple, a question is asked, answers are posted and when the poster of the question agrees that the answer is correct he or she should say so. Whoever got the question right first gets to ask the next question. If there is a long delay in confirming that the answer is correct because the user who posted the question is offline but the answer can be confirmed by other means then you may ask the next question in order not to delay the whole process.

So here's the very first question - I'll make it easy, very easy...

Who did Jesse 'The Body' Ventura always accuse of 'stealing his look' despite the truth being the opposite?

Vince - when you log on next time post a question.

No, and it wasn't Animal from the Road Warriors, The Junkyard Dog or The British Bulldogs pet Matilda. Matilda did have some run ins with Bobby but not in an officially sanctioned match. :)

I have one. May or may not be tricky:

No, it was Don Muraco - he beat Tito Santana to become the first King of the Ring in 1985.

Next question - Who did Pat Patterson beat to become the first ever Intercontinental Champion?

If you look in the record books it will say Ted Dibiase.

My question: What was strange about that match? :p

It might say that but we know it wasn't - you seem to know the answer so go ahead and answer it.

Well you cant ask the question if you dont know the answer. Thats the fun of the thread. You or someone else answer it.

I do know the answer, I don't want to answer it because I asked the question originally! So are you going to answer the question or will I just say what it is?

You didn't answer the question because Pat Patterson didn't beat Ted Dibiase for the Intercontinental title.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,066 ✭✭✭Firewalkwithme

    pat patterson

mmm.. kinda - care to expand on that?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,066 ✭✭✭Firewalkwithme

Since it looks like nobody is going to answer this one I might as well reveal the answer.

Pat Patterson didn't beat anyone for the intercontinental title.

    Read about it here: http://www.wrestleview.com/info/wwfic.shtml

Anyone want to ask the next question?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

    quickest match????

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,066 ✭✭✭Firewalkwithme

Was it Diesel vs. Bob Backlund?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

it was at one stage but not anymore there has been a quicker match since

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,066 ✭✭✭Firewalkwithme
