Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has anyone got some good jungle or drum n bass recommendations? I'm looking for something with a bad ass ragga rap in it.

    Thanks in advance.

there's a thread here that i posted a shedload of mixes in a few weeks back, i'll bump it tonight, but it's mainly heavier evil stuff...

i'll post a few classic sets with mc's in them as well as a few ragga jungle mixes when i get home tonight.

are you looking for mixes or recommendations for tunes etc? and are you looking for proper drum and bass or all of that shìtmat / enduser / venetian snares "yardcore" stuff?

i recommend you check out some of the 12"'s on shout recordings, as well as some older stuff by the likes of ray keith, congo natty etc...
a few recent and not so recent tunes with ragga vocals in them:

shout volume 5 "seven inch special" artist unknown

"babylon" - splash - juice recordings [avoid the dillinja remix, its poxy]

shout volume 6 - "for ever" [barrington levy bootleg] - artist unknown

zinc "flim" [calibre remix] - bingo recordings

nat clarxon "gangster life" - [not quite sure what label its on, some function sublabel - will check later]

ray keith "dread come to conquer" - dread

chase and status "duppy man" - breakbeat chaos

if youre more into the experimental electronica type ultra fast amen edit stuff you might like to check out shìtmat's "full english breakfast" and some people like Bong-Ra and Enduser.

Well mix's or tunes, doesn't matter as long as they're good. I'm looking for more of the old skool stuff, I'm not to gone on todays stuff.

    Thanks tyranny

Funnily enough, the best jungle I've heard in a while is on a non "proper drum and bass" (dnb elitism strikes again!) label called Planet Mu Records. They've released two albums of old 94-96 jungle by a guy called Remarc that you should check out.

    Here's a sound sample

    agreed!

i got the bizzy b ep's and that "ease up vip" thingy by mike paradinas himself a while back, fair play to planet mu for putting out great music fror n other reason than that the guy who owns the label is feeling it.

the first remarc album on that label is probably a litle bit better, although there are some pretty wicked tunes on the second one too.. [the first one was all the old tunes from back in the day - the second one was unreleased tunes from back in the day]
