There was some problem with the latest vbulletin and the db got screwed so they had to go to backups, afaik. unfortunate.
Me thinks there will be teething problems for a day or two so no point complaining about everything. Just put up and shut up and be greatful its back

Afaik, that's one of a number of minor hacks that needs to be added back in. Some of the vB settings will have been defaulted during the upgrade.
