Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've a small domain on SBS 2003 running norton corp edition with exchange 2003. Eircom are hosting the smtp email and eircom broadband always live onsite.
    Users running Outlook 2003.

Email seems to arrive about 1 or 2 hours after being sent to them and when the mail coming to them has an attachment it seems to take 4/5 hours.

    Any idea's?

send a blank email to autoreply@eircom.net it should bounce back off their smtp server you can then right click on it an check the header for the times.
(should take a minute or two)

you could also create an @eircom.net email account and try it too.
( five to ten minutes )

and double check internet runs smoothly - if something is hogging up the bandwidth nothing will happen fast.

Outlook has numerous ways to be lazy - try a manual send and receive too.

I've tried the echo@esat.net mail so that's the same as the autoreply@eircom.net and it came in to the user in about 5 -10 minutes.

Ive done a mail from my eircom without attachment and it came once in 5 minutes and the next time it took 1 hour and with an attachment it took 3 hours

Very strange and with only 4 users onsite and on one using the internet it's weird.

is the exchange server configrued to send immediatley or is on a timed collection of email ( doubt it unless you setup whatever replaced RAS in exchange 5.5 )

hmm its a strange one alrite, is the mail that is delayed coming from 1 specfic domain or are all domains affected?? Ive seen some server only collecting mail ever 1 hr, even using SMTP, I know you echo and eircom are coming in straight away, is the internet always slow or is anyone using limewire , overnet , e donkey ???

The mail in is not from a specfic domain - could come from anywhere.

Internet seems to fly and the 4 users are too stupid / locked down to use any downloading/uploading software.
