Yeah - sold it two weeks ago:o (God now its just hit me:( ) and you can see the rear end of it sticking out in the escort pic (the one on the right) pic taken before it was sold obviously.

Still, hard as it is to swallow I have to accept that I have to stop increasing my fleet as its bad for the cars and for me as its quite a strain keeping so many cars not to mention expensive.:rolleyes:

I suppose people would prefer a car that's five years older, for obvious reasons -- there won't be a huge number of MKII's in that category though, since it only hit classic status this year.

I was always more endeared to the MKI meself, so I'd only go for a MKII if it was perfect, and officially a classic. You qualified on one but not the other, thanks anyway.

There's a couple people on Carzone have marked their MKII's as 1975 just to get into classic search results. Twats.

I has almost completed a thesis on data protection, 2 things to note:

1) The number of people who can access the national driver and vehicle file is huge (councils, motor trade, etc etc...)
2) Data protection law is well and good, but really not much practical use if someone has access to the files and choose to abuse that access. Chances are you will never know one way or the other.

Not sure if your asking me, but its the same as all other classics really. It drinks fuel, but its not the kind of car you'd use every day. Cheap tax, classic insurance etc

Perhaps. But if the beauty is more than skin deep the appeal can last a lifetime. I see your Mustang as a beatiful car, although I suspect a large part of it is the powerful imagery it brings of late 60s americana - full of idealism and optimism.

Is it a dull car to drive? Has it some glaring flaw that gnaws away at you the longer you own it? Very disappointing if it does, I must say.

Yes I was gs39t. It looks the part, and I have always liked those cars. Wouldn't mind going down that route myself at some stage, its just a bit too expensive for me at the moment.

But I can see why you would become bored with it. Not that particular car but any, if you have that strong an interest in cars, its always hard to stay settled with one.

My pride and joy. My 00 Rover 75 2 litre diesel. Connoisseur level so lovely leather cream interior, electric seats/mirrors/windows etc, heated seats plus dual climate control, burr walnut trim etc.

Cheap to both insure and run and with an ecu remap bringing the bhp from a sedate 114bhp upto a eager 152bhp it's now transformed from a big motorway tank happiest wafting down the overtaking lane to a big motorway tank happiest umm.... wafting down the motorway (but overtaking is a lot more fun )

Well the 504 is a real jem so its going to be a hard decision - all depends on a Golf GTi deal I am working on at the moment. Getting classic insurance for it is the main problem (its a 1991 car - hence too new for classic insurance) and if I can't get that sorted its bye bye Golf Gti:(

The 504 is a RHD with 41,000 miles from new - so its rare. I know its only the 'L' model but still I just love it. Price? I have not really thought about that too much but I would want at least €4,000 for it as its almost like new.:)

Don't hold your breath here, but a certain family member absolutely loves the 504. He probably isn't interested in buying one, but I will run it by him all the same

My late grandfather had several 504s back in the 70s. He was a professional driver all of his life and he loved them. I clearly remember being awe-struck by the leccie windows, the rear centre armrest and the luxury upholstery, although I reckon your 504 might only have manual windows?

Thanks, I specifically waited to get it in black and that spec level, even had to go to the UK to find it! Was worth it in the end though since although it might be a bit 'pipe and slippers' for some I really enjoy the cosseted luxury of the whole thing. And hell at €10k (inc paying the VRT) it's hard to go wrong.

The Chrome wing mirrors are a feature of the connoisseur level, if you see them there's almost certainly leather interior/climate control etc. My girlfriends mates keep thinking it's a jag

It is just the newer ones, E46 ciarsd says. On the moulding on the door on the E36 you can see the M3 badge,

I'm wouldn't be too sure that 95 m3 is real either, looks different to the one I had for not even a month after I sold the 318is, eats 20times more than me and my woman would in a week, mine was the 3.2 model, I wouldn't say they look different to the 3l but never had the 3l model
