can you provide further detail on how large wheels effect clutch?

It will be small but Inertia and your un-sprung weight will be greater.

Un-sprung weight per kg has a massive effect against sprung weight per kg.
    Something like 1:4
The more your engine has to rotate at the driven wheels then the bigger the inertia to get it going. The clutch is in the middle between the sides that don't want to go and do.

Now we may get back on topic before we're lead out and shot :D

But if overall diameter equal and weight not different ? Large wheel not always mean heavier than standard with bigger diameter overall.

With the slope of the ground where it's parked and the camera angle the car looks like it's leaning in a corner, pretty cool

Went to Cork the Aug bank holiday for a break and came home in this. Don't need it but couldn't leave it behind! €700 and 2,500 miles later and I'm delighted with it. Tis a '00 1.8 petrol.

Place du Casino in Monte Carlo I reckon. That Land Cruiser is by a long way the cheapest vehicle around there.

Correct on the casino, but there was a Peugeot 406 just in front of me! Insane money in cars!

Standards are slipping. Time was they'd have you shot for attempting to approach the place in a car like that. :D

I love the wheels too. Need a good de-tarring though. The 1.8 could be got in a turbo, it had 150 bhp. Mine has 125 bhp. Its going to stay as it is. I'm keeping the car original except for the radio. Currently a tape deck, it'll soon be changed for a cd player. After that it'll just be maintenance work I spend on it, I've enough cars to be spending money on! When I got it first it was averaging 39 mpg. After a service and some long drives I filled up this evening and worked it out at 40.57 mpg so happy with that.

Here it is in its natural habitat. CLK230K, nice cruiser, spotless interior for a 15 year old car, one bit of stitching coming apart on the driver side but nothing that can't be easily fixed. Needs tracking and a rocker cover gasket and that's about the height of it, it's even been recently serviced
