Sure it takes you all of 30 mins to swap an engine, go only knows what's in that 520i at the moment:P

    1.2 punto engine or something!:P:D

    899cc Seicento engine :pac:

A V8 swap would be an absolute arse of a swap, auto trans ecu loom, DME, EWS, steering rack, subframe all have to be changed. Not to mention the entire drive train, shocks.... I still haven't found a rad for it yet!

It drives well as is (apart from a seriously neglected front suspension setup :( I'll be sorting that soon) and quiet. I can hear myself think again! :D

Once I sort a slight hesitation at certain revs the auld M52B20 will do..... For now ;)

@ DGT Le google map link for those roads?

Didn't cop the 520, thought you were just venturing out in the 535, didn't want to say anything incase you were!

Tim told me what happened to the Pug :( how did I miss that? Did you have a post about it?

There's a fairly obvious difference between this an the 535 (not just the engine :o)

No post on the Pug, nothing's happened to it, it's still sitting in my yard. Needed a well earned rest, it'll come back better than before ;)

Ah, come on. You mean some day you may actually get to drive it AGAIN.

But it has been 3 or 4 years or so alright.

The old Mauritius Blue touring is of the road 2yrs last Sept (I think, otherwise 3yrs). Started work on the red shell in Jan of 2011 so nearly 3yrs ago.

I'll only get to drive bits of it again, the shell and engine bits are all new to me, interior, wheels and what ever else was carried over from the old shell.

I think I remember that E30 from back when I was on E30 owners, fair play!

I've been on there awhile, this is what she looked like the day she was parked up, pubble of coolant and all.

That shell is rotten to bits now unfortunately but all the important bits, trim, interior etc will live on in the new one.

Ohh! Thought it was the same car.

There's a guy local to me, pretty sure he's driving a 94 one as his daily.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,391 ✭✭✭jozi

This was around Dublin/Cavan when I had it and Donegal before that.

There's one or two on Owners from around Limerick but I'm not sure if they drive 94's, one defo has a touring anyway!

    ---edit---

The shell thats painted had a lot less rust than the one on my last post.

I saw that car a few times up in Donegal when Scruffy Murphy from E30owners had it, always thought it was a good car and liked the idea of a sporty estate

Thats right I bought it of him after his missus had a little fender bender. Had a good years motoring with it. Shame really it's so far gone now, but lots of parts live on in the red shell (which I got from Scruffy).
