Driving is sweet once you keep the revs up as it has no issue going to 7500 or 8000 so in traffic at 1500/2000 can be a handfull

You really do rev the shít out of that engine.

Not at all. Talking from seeing the same engines used in motorsport for years without any issues at high rpm. My yoke has never seen over 4000 in the 5 months I've had it. Being a broke student doesnt allow for stupid repair bills caused by limiter bouncing or flahing the engine

Well then why the hell are you at 7000 or 8000 RPM when in traffic!?!?!!

    :pac:

Read my original post lad. 'So at 1500/2000 in traffic can be a handfull'. Sher the engine itself has an automatic choke that leaves her ticking over at 2500 until the temperature gets up to the proper level. Anyway........this thread needs more pics lads and ladies!!!

I would like to know that as well. As I can't imagine it has much torque at such low revs.

I'm guessing you have to keep on tapping it to keep her lit.

Is she tuned up or something Cian? 1500-2000 Revs at idle sounds like she's ticking over like a mouse's heart

4k rpm, you need to blow out those cobwebs created over the last few months :D

    I don't get why you'd buy a car with a 4AGE to keep it below 4000rpm, that's just such a waste.
You can hand it over to me, I'll give it better use! :pac:

They just beg to be between 5 and 8k all day, every day. Saying that I have no performance issues with mine at low RPM. It just pulls evenly and smoothly from idle :)

Nice car. Had an older shape myself as my first car so i have a fondness for colts.

Yours is a nice example, but I would get rid of the carbon wrap on the filler cap, it just doesn't match anything else on the car.

Have you any plans for it? Evo engine??:pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

    Plans:
    - Lower it
    - Blue or yellow brake calipers & drums
    - White alloys
    - Clean up the engine bay, paint the rocker and exhaust manifold covers
    - JDM lug nuts
    - Respray windscreen wipers
    - I need a K&N air (and maybe oil) filter now that I have the sticker, hahah.
    - Some other things along the way

Sure an Evo engine would be nice and all but who's gonna cover all the costs?
