    Hi,

I'm considering buying a cottage in kilbeheny county limerick.

It's in need of re-roofing and I would like to raise the whole roof by two feet to allow for room space in the attic.

Anyone have a name of someone, either an engineer or a person in the planning office that i could talk to in relation to such a job.

I'm trying to get an idea as to whether or not it's likely to be allowed before buying the property.

I have to request in writing a meeting with the planning officer, so god knows how long that will take.

    anyone have any thoughts?

    Hi,

Ring up the planning office based in Dooradoyle and Look for Paul Foley. Tell him that you want to organise a pre-planning meeting with regards to your cottage. If you cant reach him by phone, look up the Limerick planning web site and send an email to them (theres an all around email address to deal with queries) looking for a pre planning meeting.
When you go for your meeting make sure that you take any relevant drawings pictures etc of the site. Paul is very helpful and will give you a good indication as to what you will be allowed to do.

    Regards,
