A large part of the reason for the huge queues for arathi basin on bladefist was the fact that most alliance couldnt be arsed joining in when they knew the denied/randoms guild group where very likely to be their opposition, and that they would get steamrolled inside 5 or 6 minutes. Since Randoms migrated, the queues have gotten a hell of a lot shorter (<1 minute at peak times). I don't mean this as a criticism of the way you and your guild played memnoch, but the fact of the matter is that it's the full time honour farmers that screwed up the queue system, by making battlegrounds unappealing for people who just want to join for a BG for half an hour, grab a few kills and pass some time after work or whatever. I would agree that the PvP in WOW is pretty broken though, the whole notion of rank decay, especilly below rank 10 completely removes the incentive most people would have for pvp in the first place. Why bother trying to get to the higher ranks when the rewards you can get from PVE are often better than the pvp sets? It's unfortunate that the ranking system forces people to play battlegrounds the way randoms did, and it's something that needs to be fixed.

imo the rewards from pve are not necessiarly better then the pvp sets infact in all pvp battlegrounds i wear the pvp set as the set of choice. i play a druid so the 15% outdoor speed increase to travel form is invaluable in wsg and extremely useful in AB also. similarly one of our best warriors pvp gear consists of the pvp set

tbh high warlords set for any class would be better than the pve rewards, however might take you a while to get high warlord :D

Pointless stupid fighting moved to the Thunderdome. Lets keep this on topic.

If the level cap were raised too high we'd end up with a bunch of unspecialised uber characters and that, to me, ruins a lot of what WoW is about. The fact that your character can be so strong but still be unique is very important - talents allow you to take your character in certain directions thus differentiating them from characters of the same class...

Lose that and the game loses some of its magic.

No offence but MOST of the talent builds come 60 for each class are more or less exactly the same.

Inclined to disagree. With druids if you spend 30 in Balance you get a new form. If you spend 30 in feral combat you become more warrior/roguelike. If you spend 30 in Restoration you become a pretty nifty healer. But it depends where you spend them as to which way your character goes...

Now I've only played druid so I'm not sure how things work for the other classes..

    That's just for Druids though.

Most Priests are holy (**** tree btw), most mages are frost and so on..

    i disagree as well.

with the addition of the recent pages and the "fixing" of a number of classes multiple talent lines are feasible in end game imo.

atm our guild has balance, feral and resto druids. shadow, disc and holy priests, beasts and marksman hunters etc and similar for the other classes

found out the other day that the alliance guild that has advanced the most in bwl (they are on neferion atm) apparently all of there warriors are arms/fury.

You either don't have a level 60 character or really haven't learned how to play a class yet.

This made me laugh! I'm only level 19 and it seems I've got a bit more understand about the talents or something! I just can't decide which way to take my druid. My guild already has a balance one, maybe I should go feral... hmm.

At lvl19 I wouldn't worry too much about what the guild needs, worry more about what is either easier to level or more fun to play. You'll do enough `speccing to suit your guild' when you're 60.

    agreed. go feral until 60

Err, hes right. Most talent builds are the same. The classes with talent overhauls seem to have some options but for most of the others, most ppl seem to have cookie cutter builds.

Enhancement up to Improved Windfury weapon! Then elemental ftw!

    bloody shamans...

from what i've seen (only have a high lvl lock, and he's not quite 60 yet) the different talent tree's can make a huge difference. for example, with soul link and master demonology, i can bitch slap rogues, which is a nice change from when i was affliction or destruction. any melee class for that matter is a hell of a lot easier. now i havent played since 1.8 went online, so i know it might be a bit different, but our talents seem to be getting fixed, which is about damn time.

Why don't they just make games so there is no level restrictions? And the weapons that you get that are only for level 60's should get no more damage. But the player gets more hitpoints etc..

That wasy no-one would quit. as the character always progresses

there needs to be a target to aim for, otherwise its just a never ending cycle of quests and instance runs. granter, currently its never ending quests and instance runs, but at least once you get to 60 (soon to be 70) you are at the top of the foodchain (especially if your a shaman or a rogue :) )...at least till the next expansion comes out.
