I just said id make this thread since there are problems in Limerick.
For one im starting to get peed off of waiting and not knowing what
is going on, If Digiweb (Chaz - Crawler) Could give all the lovely
people of Limerick some sort of notion on when this problem might
be solved. Like in fairness its been a good few weeks now since the
orders went in and there has been no contact from Digiweb to let
us know what the story is.

What's the problem with Limerick - high latency? - Download speeds crawling? downtime?

Funny you! Not even a installation...
From the flyer in the letterbox a few weeks ago:
"METRO is here, take a ticket. Available in .... Limerick TODAY!"

    funny!

rang digiweb today about Metro in Limerick.

our order is in 21 days now the guy told me but the expected callout is between 2-4 weeks so said we should expect a call within the next week or so.

I told him I had heard so tales of problems with the digiweb mast and he said No, Limerick is fine, installations have been done in Limerick and it's prolly a case of a lot of callouts.

HA Thats all bull$hit even chaz and crawler have said there are
problems with the high site in Limerick and that no installations
    have been done!!!

rang the hotline and the lady told me that there are still tests going on in limerick with the antenna and that they can't give any specific date when the installation will be carried out.

Ok guys. Going to need an update on whats happening with Limerick otherwise I think I will sign off as well.
Just did my calculations, it will cost me 5 more a month than having my BT line for the first 6 months. Maybe offer a scrapped installation fee for the people in Limerick because of the 'problems'?

got from an inside source that it will all be resolved within 12-14 days at the ver y very latest..see quote from below

"The Lads are in Limerick all week, to be fair to you I would think it will be 12-14 days. I know this is not what you want to hear, but I feel it best to be honest."

    Any updates?

The lady on phone said "well before the end of year", "probabily a couple of weeks more"..

Thus they are either waiting for equipment or a site that they don't have access to yet. Install is not that long. I do radio repeater, satellite and Microwave link installs so I have some idea.

A lot better than Clarion, which is at sea level.

I get a better view at 6ft high than roof top as the trees are so huge and mature you can get LOS under them at 6ft above ground, but at roof top you are 20ft too low!

having broadband or not having broadband - that's the question. having broadband is the answer.

just to remember the METRO flyer found mid september in the letterbox:

"Metro is here, take a ticket! Available in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Waterford and Dundalk TODAY! Available in your area TODAY!"

Where is it in Limerick? Has the metro train arrived yet? They didn't even build the railtracks!

Excuse the language, but you ungrateful bastards. without metro, you either have to go landline or with IBB. ive been with metro coming up on a month now, and the speeds i get on it leave IBB in the dust. the latency is for the most part perfect (i get the odd spike, but theyre working on that, even) and their customer service is second to none. i was with IBB for 9 months and i got more customer service in 1 day than i got with the entire 9 months i was with IBB. Anyways, seriously. these guys are swamped with orders. theyre doing their best. have some patience please. and trust me when i say this.

Good things come to those who wait.

screw the mod that was bitching about the "this thread was for people that had metro".
All of us people in here appreciate all the advice and help that Chaz and Crawler gave us..and as more than likely that we pay for subscriptions to boards then we are therefore customers and can classed as kings.
of course most mods seem to have a superiority complex much like 11 year old kids on BF2 servers..hmmm..maybe they're all BF2 admins as well...

A Excuse you? How about no, if we want to rant on the fact that Digiweb have not started to install our metro in Limerick yet we will. I have been a good Digiweb customer for a long wile now and will always be dont see why i dont have the right to complain about getting no information on what the hold up might be! And another thing TODD if thats your real name, are you in Limerick?
