Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Very poorly done indeed, unlike the one were Fern Britton appears to be a lot thinner than she is and then puts on a fat suit for TV work:

That ad is done so badly. The effects are very amateur looking, no doubt it would have been impressive 10 years ago. But compared to the kinds of effect that are seen all the time right now that ad is very poor.

I also don't really get why they are using Happy Days. The show was not the cutural phenomenom in this part of the world that it was in the US. I don't know who they are trying to impress with badly done images of a show that was not so popular in this part of the world.

    Yeah its sheyte alright.

It's badly done and whats worse it's not even an original idea. Spike Jonze made a video for Weezer about 12 years ago that spliced happy days footage with band footage and whilst not nearly as technically ambitious at least managed to match the images better.

As to why they even used happy days I don't know? I don't think there was ever any great love for the show in this part of the world to begin with?

...and certainly not amoung anyone under 40 either! Maybe the French ad-agency thought "Les Jours Contents" would be a good selling point?
