i know a girl who's running four day intensive film production courses (weekend days) where you make your own short film as part of the course... you can then use that as part of a portfolio/showreel.. interested??

    as requested:
its a course run by Julianne Forde, she's a graduate of the Dun Laogihre film course who specialised in camera and lighting. The course features workshops in camera/lighting/sound and editing.
There are two courses coming up soon... the first is aimed at people in secondary school but is open to all.. it runs over the mid term break from tues nov 1st to fri nov 4th. It runs from 10am to 4pm each day.
the second course is run over two weekends and is aimed at adults but again is open to all. it runs on the weekend of 5th & 6th and the weekend of the 12th & 13th of november. again it runs from 10am to 4pm each day. The cost of the course is €190 (thats €60 cheaper than filmbase i'm told.. although i haven't confirmed that) and at the end you receive a copy of the film you have made on dvd.
It has been ran before during the summer and was quite a success. you can enrol or make enquiries by mailing julesforde@gmail.com or phoning 0868206144... hope this helps!!
