What is the requirement for installing a 2nd Monitor (i.e. Having bigger desktop)?

Is it just 1 decent Graphics card you need .. or two? The card has to be AGP doesn't it? Where does the second one plug into?

In how many ways will this ruin Xmas and cause all my games to crash?

    Cheers,

    JAK.

Yeah, I've done it, and it rox.
WWM is absolutly correct, all you need is an additional monitor and graphics card with any combination of PCI and AGP and you're done!
So much cool $hit you can do with it...

Get a Matrox G400, it supports 2 monitors out of the box...

    Well I have a Rage 128 (AGP) ,

and a spare Matrox Millenium 2 lying about and an old 14" monitor ... so i guess as long as the Mill 2 fits it should be easy enough ...

    Cheers ppl,

    JAK.

Well - aside from the fact i think it would look pretty interesting,

For a lot of research I am typing to a word document from some Hypertext page or database or whatever ... so now i dont have to flick between windows i can just look left and right.

Also i have a spare monitor and grphz card so why not?

    IS IT Y2K COMPLIANT?

    Aaaaahhh! Shut up!
It's all I hear all bloody day long... "Blah blah Y2K blah"

Anyway, in response to TinCool, 2 monitors are great for all sortsa' $hit, especialy building webpages where only minor adjustments need to be checked on.
It's a lot quicker to just 'zap' on to the adjacent monitor to check on what you've done.

we set it up in our place to use microstation. The mouse pointer jumps from screen to screen, how cool is that? smile.gif

yeh a Matrox G400 is the safest bet if your doing that kind of thing.

Wouldn't UT or Half-Life be great with two monitors (if it was supported?).

Wait, fu(k that!, I want THREE monitors, big 23" ones!
    PWHOA!
