    Howdy,

I'm going to create 2 thread, reasons to buy an ipod, and reasons not to buy an ipod and sticky them.

Please keep discussion specific to each thread

It will hopefully stop the constant ipod bashing/etc that has happened recently

So why should i buy an ipod?

apparently good service (except for the battery replacement charge)
Easy to use (partly due to a lack of features)

Really easy to use and iTunes is very handy. My friend has an iRiver and I think it's UI is messy compared to an iPod.

The number one advantage I find the iPod has over other mp3 players is the interface, absolutely brilliant and very ergonomic. The click wheel is just a beaut to use.

Also the standard iPod now plays video, which is a nice feature.

    They are easily upgraded !!:D

Seriously though it's the ease of use and the styling along with the iTunes experience that wins out for me. Plus I use Macs anyway which just made the iPod a natural choice for me. I have a 40GB and a 1GB Shuffle and my better half has a 512MB Shuffle.

Simple to use and interacts perfectly with iTunes.

For example I have a 2GB Nano but I have more than 2GB of music, so I have a playlist for my Nano. I change what songs are in that playlist on iTunes and then hit update songs on the iPod and it syncs them perfectly. I haven't seen an iRiver capable of doing this.
