Cupple of Guitar Qs

I am currently learning how to play the guitar and I want to move on to the scales and I'm not sure what the hello to learn and I don't know what kind of theory I need. I have almost mastered the standard learning chords such as major e majaor etc etc. So anyone got any help for me please :) Thanks in advance.
