Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dont worry you can watch Liverpool - West Ham on RTE 2.

    Charlton v Bolton - Charlton
    Chelsea v Blackburn - Chelsea
Liverpool v West Ham - West Ham
Man City v Aston Villa - Man City
    Sunderland v Portsmouth - Portsmouth
West Brom v Newcastle - Newcastle
Middlesbro v Man Utd - Draw.

    Mike.

I'd sooner watch paint dry than Liverpool. I can't see why RTE chose that game, apart from the very high amount of Liverpool supporters in Ireland, because, bar West Ham showing some creativity, it'll probably be very boring.

They could of had Arsenal vs. Spurs or Blackburn vs. Chelsea and they chose Liverpool.

Spurs 1-0 up at half time, now I'm really pissed off that this isn't being shown.

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

Spurs will win it now, Arsenal have no shape and don't have the players on the bench to change it. Van Persie might be able to make a difference, but more than likely will not get onto the pitch until it is much too late.

I'm watching Wigan-Fulham, quite an eventful first-half. 0-0 at the moment.

1-0 Wigan in the 92nd minute. Chimbonda scored it. Fulham didn't take their chances and it was fairly harsh on them, but Wigan have had the majority of the chances, they probably deserve it.

    go on the Gunners.
    Pires scored, 1 -1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

Dean Whitehead has just put Sunderland ahead with a 4th minute penalty. I reckon it could be a second win of the season for Mick's lads.

    1-0 Chelski (Drogba)

Van Persie should be in the starting line up from now on.

He changed the game around when he came on.

Except most of the times when he does start, he's played poorly.

Van Persie should only be starting when Henry or Reyes are injured, imo.

2 Penos in the chelsea game already.

Go on the Bellers. MGP will get the equaliser now. Why didn't RTE shows this match? 3 goals in the first twenty minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,541 ✭✭✭Davei141

It didnt have classic written all over it though, should make an interesting match of the day.

To be honest its not that good a game. Chelsea are playing very well. It shouldn't be long before they increas their lead IMO.

Lads where did ye see the Aresnal game?
As for vanPersie starting i'd have to agree with that.
He has been playing very well recently, but when Henry returns, put him back on the subs bench.

It was on Art Sport (Foreign Channel) Arsenal deserved their Draw on their second half preformance. IMO though they are really missing Viera because in the first half they had no fight in their display. Van persie did play well also

You don't have to be psychic to know that a Liverpool game will be boring.

Like the CL final? The Liverpool match isn't too bad. The goal alone was worth it.

2-2 Bellamy again. What a howler from Peter Cech

RTE are showing one rugby match today lemlin, no need for 2.

    HT: Chelsea 2 Blackburn 2.

Not a bad game now. Blackburn have come more into the game since they pulled back the first goal. They are putting together alot of passes together. They have had one or two good shots on target also. The equaliser came from a clearance from a back pass which Cech lauched up in the penalty area and instead of clearing it it came down and Bellamy was there to head past a helpless Cech.

Stats at half time show Blackburn with 54% of possession

    Lemlin ease off eh?.

Morientes is looking pretty decent though Cisse needs a lesson in doing simple stuff simply.

    Mike.

The liverpool game is very very very boring unfortuantely, but I expected more, as I"m sure did RTE.

The Chelsea game was always going to be great, there is a hgue tension between these two managers and teams, with Chelsea the slick foreign passers, and Blackburn, the hard english kickers.
It was always going to be a great match.

Can't believe Blkacburn pulled it back, g'wan the blackburn!

Sorry but, as PHB pointed out, Liverpool are boring to watch and that's fact. I was sure RTE would go with the Blackburn game and I'm bitterly disappointed that they haven't.

Anyone could of told them that it'd be a much better game.

Well done to the lads though. Just when I doubt them they always seem to confound me. So I'm going for Chelsea to win 5-2 :)

RTE probably don't really care about the quality of football, its all about pulling the numbers. Fair enough good football pulls good crowds but Liverpool have probably the biggest following in Ireland.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,541 ✭✭✭Davei141

Last year the blackburn chelsea games were a one sided walk over (stamford bridge), and a 1 nill anything goes free for all of leg kicking and late cynical challenges(ewood park). There was nothing to indicate "classic".
