Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Microsoft in need of a geography lesson

Many parts of the Microsoft.com website now show "united kingdom" on the top left of each page - (eg http://office.microsoft.com) even if one's PC "regional settings" are Ireland and one is using an Irish ISP with an Irish IP number.

Unfortunately they are not alone. There is an increasingly not so subtle "pounding of drums" in the media, financed by anglo-saxon companies (not to mention the odd “Irish” entity), to "united kingdomize" Ireland.

Microsoft is a guest in Ireland and do very nicely out of the place. The least one might expect is that they respect the place and refrain from this sort of intellectual terrorism.

Eircom treat UTV and NTL as being non-irish ISP's so don't single them out.

And microsoft have released an Irish language interface recently so they are doing stuff. The Irish keyboard going back a decade offered different features to the UK one too.

BTW - all this politcal correctness has removed one of the very nice features in windows 95 - pick your time zone by clicking on your country.

I'd rather use a toothpick to remove my own testicles. Thanks for the thought though:)
