Hey all. I'm thinking of buying an iPod nano but am worried about the reports of screens being scratched. How many people here have bought one and have they found this problem with them?

I know a couple of people with em. nothin wrong with the screen so far but I'd imagine just to keep your keys in a separet pocket.

This was a problem for me when I had a minidisc player. However, when I bought my iPod, I also bought the holster which has kept it in immaculate condition

something like this would work well for the nano, I'd imagine without being too bulky

Just buy a case with a screen protector for it and it'll be grand.

Doesn't scratch if you look after it but I don't keep a Nano in my pants pocket with keys. I think many of those that reported scratches did though.

all of the Ipods I have had were prone to scratching. So when I bought a nano I left the original screen protector on it, problem solved.

The "nano" is the worst of the lot. People complained about this at Apple, and they said "We do not consider this article to be defective".

Later Apple gave them new nano's after they we're going to initiate a lawsuit. The replacement nano's have the same problem. The people are "£$*&^%$£.

The idea that the nano screen scratches more than the other ipods is completely unfounded. The front of the nano, as with the other ipods, is made from a polycarbonate polymer, a very tough (resistant to impact) material but like most polymers not hugely hard (resistance to abrasion). So the ipod nano is no more or less likely to get its screen scratched than any of the other ipods.

Btw, i have a nano, and a little bit of common sense goes a long way e.g. not putting it in a pocket with keys, buying a case, ect.
I've had mine since launch and i've yet to get a scratch on it. Ffs, if you're going to spend that much money on it the least you could do is take care of it, that lawsuit is a joke and will go nowhere

I do not believe that what the majority of owners says is unfounded (despite what Apple says the nano is made of).

Buy a case for your ipod and it won't scratch - it's like a phone or anything - if you don't treat it right it will scratch or get damaged.

    It's not advertised as an all-weather / all-conditions MP3.

I do not have and I won't ever buy again an iPod.
