Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wireless Bridge problem

Hey I already have a wireless network up and running in the house.
The problem is now I have to connect a Mac to the existing wireless network.

No problem I know but the problem is the mac is my uncles and it needs to run OS9.2 for work reasons. Now according to himself its hard to aquire a network card comaptable with the OS. So the techys in his job recommended a Wireless bridge router. This one... http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=118981&cks=SER

So he was told that he could use this router to connect with the current wireless router(almost the exact same as the bridge only 4 ports) and then run an Cat5 cable from the bridge into his machine.

    Is this even plausable?

And if it is any tips on actualy getting it to work. I presume my main router, which is DHCP enabled, will have to give the bridge one an IP on the network or something similar?

Again any help on this matter is appreciated.

    Cheers

Easier solution would be to use this.

Connect it to PC first to configure it, then simply plug into the Mac. The MAc will simply think a wired cable has been connected and bob's ur uncle. No drivers or anything need on Mac.

Thanks may get one myself for the Xbox!

Got it sorted turns out twas the encryption messing everything up but sorted now.

Works perfectly from my laptop(which i was using to configure) but wont work at all from the mac. I can only presume its a compatability problem.

    Thanks again
