    According to this http://www.nra.ie/RoadSchemeActivity/SchemeActivity-2005/#M50DublinPortTunnel
it will be the last quarter of 2005.
However, the sceptic in me doubts this.

The two tunnels are long since finished and both the north and south tunnels are fully navigable, they have both been finished a good few months.

They are both being fitted out at the moment, wired, sinage etc..., testing is also taking place.

AFAIK the tunnels will open to traffic in the Spring (April) of 2006.

Should be fun northbound where the tunnel (M1) merges with the old M1 (old swords road). We'll have HGVs travelling uphill trying to get onto junction 3 on the m50 crossing over cars merging. Why they didn't have the foresight to carry a lane of the tunnel under the merging m1 and have the HGV enter junction 3 on the on ramp.

they still wont let trained and experienced firemen into it for training purposes. god knows they've more experience at this than half the folk working on the tunnel site! again intelligence!
